Standards‑Driven Innovation | Zhiyu Industry Invited to the Inaugural Meeting & First Working Session for Formulating Nine Standards including *Industrial Foundation Classes for Building Information Modeling: General*

On March 14, 2023, the inaugural meeting and first working session was held in Beijing for nine standards issued by the China Association for Engineering Construction Standardization. These standards, jointly compiled by 94 organizations including China Institute of Building Standard Design & Research, Railway BIM Alliance, CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Consultants Co., Ltd., China Design Digital Technology Co., Ltd., China State Construction Eighth Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd., Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology, and Beijing Municipal Road & Bridge Co., Ltd., cover: Industrial Foundation Classes for Building Information Modeling: General, Industrial Foundation Classes for Building Information Modeling: Architecture, Industrial Foundation Classes for Building Information Modeling: Railway, Industrial Foundation Classes for Building Information Modeling: Water Transport, Industrial Foundation Classes for Building Information Modeling: Construction, Industrial Foundation Classes for Building Information Modeling: Ancient Architecture, Basic Semantics of Architecture and Civil Engineering: General, Basic Semantics of Architecture and Civil Engineering: Building Informatization, Basic Semantics of Architecture and Civil Engineering: Carbon Emission and Sustainable Development.

Sun Dafeng, Deputy General Manager of Shenzhen Zhiyu Industrial Development Co., Ltd., attended the meeting and participated in the compilation of Industrial Foundation Classes for Building Information Modeling: General. Zhiyu Industry devotes itself to the R&D and practical application of IoT and IoT operating systems. It builds a digital base for converged infrastructure to deliver digital‑twin capabilities that support simplified management and applications. Through facility virtualization and SDX (Software‑Defined Everything), the company fulfills comprehensive management, application and service requirements for converged infrastructure. Drawing on over two decades of engineering project experience, Zhiyu Industry intends to contribute to the development of the CN‑IFC standard system.

Wang Wei, Deputy Director‑General of the Department of Standards and Quotas, Ministry of Housing and Urban‑Rural Development of the People’s Republic of China; Zhang Zhixin, Vice‑Chairman & Secretary‑General of China Association for Engineering Construction Standardization; Cai Chengjun and Zhang Chi, Deputy Secretaries‑General of the association, were present at the conference.

A project advisory expert panel was formed by Gu Ming, Professor from the School of Software, Tsinghua University; Tao Lan, Director of China Aero‑Polytechnology Establishment; Gu Wei, Vice President of Tencent Cloud & General Manager of Smart Building & Real Estate Industry; and Han Daguang, Professor, School of Civil Engineering, Southeast University.

More than 100 representatives from participating compiling organizations attended the event, including Luo Wenbin, Deputy General Manager of China Institute of Building Standard Design & Research; Wei Lai, Deputy Chief Architect, BIM Director and Secretary‑General of buildingSMART China Chapter; Gao Zhiqiang, Deputy Chief Engineer of the institute; and Yu Jie, General Manager of China Design Digital Technology Co., Ltd.
